“The phone call wakes up the physicist Khachatryan from a nightmare, whose strange characters foretell an impending disaster. The call brings bad news to the physicist. His scientific studies and his life’s work are at stake; the government has decided to stop funding the center he manages. In one last desperate move, the physicist sends a man-made cosmic ray into space, hoping it will lead to a scientific discovery and demonstrate the importance of his center.
